What is Business Intelligence?
All organisations have troves of data in various different places: cloud applications, databases and spreadsheets. We bring this data together using Microsoft PowerBI to give your teams new insights, as well as the core information they need to make decisions.
In our experience different people consume data in different ways. Some need high-level, at-a-glance information in graphical form, charts and graphs, while others want to drill right down into the detail via tables of data. We can build reports that provide both. High level KPIs, which you can click-through to dig deep into the data.
Our approach to Business Intelligence is different. Most organisations will have an idea of the information they need, but the real transformation comes from experimentation with data. This is the information that no-one knew existed, where it had never before been possible to link the data in two different cloud line-of-business applications to a spreadsheet in SharePoint.
That's why we see Business Intelligence not just as a one-off project where we build the charts that you already knew you wanted, but as a more creative, long-term process where we're constantly working with you to provide both the information you want, but also suggesting to you the information you need.
The other benefit of this approach is that if you're unsure about the advantages of Business Intelligence, we can start small and grow as you see the impact, rather than committing to a huge, expensive project where you'll just end up with what you already knew.
Technology Strategy
During the more than twenty years I've been helping organisations across all sectors with technology strategy I've seen a wide range of approaches, from businesses with huge, complex strategy documents full of jargon and consultant speak, which look impressive but don't drive meaningful change, through to businesses with no strategy at all who just end up reacting and are constantly on the back-foot.
Our approach is to work across the whole organisation, whether that be a business or not-for-profit, to understand what works well and where the challenges lie, and develop a practical technology strategy that can support the organisation in meeting it's goals.
That means a strategy with meaningful actions written in language that everyone can understand, not full of tech jargon or generic consultant speak, which are prioritised, costed and have realistic timeframes.
AI, including ChatGPT, is currently a hot-topic, but we can unpick the hype and help you understand what AI really means for your organisation, both in terms of potential efficiency but also limitations and data protection risks.
We also stick around to make sure it actually happens. Through regular meetings we can help support leaders, IT departments and third-parties, holding them to account where appropriate.
Our view is that creating the strategy is just the first stage. The job isn't done until it's actually delivered change.
Outsourcing Consultancy
